About me:
GoSomething is an action platform of resources for travelers who wish to contribute to the communities they visit. You get involved, you give back, you enjoy.
It's really quite simple: Go Somewhere, Do Something!

GoSomething's Social Actions

Our actions are your actions!

GoSomething facilitates the traveler's actions. We provide three resources for travelers who wish to contribute to their destinations:

* a forum to seek information on contributive travel opportunities and get feedback on your projects;

* an endorsement mechanism: you tell us what you'd like to do, we endorse you and help you get the goods and services you need;

* a project marketplace: if you don't have your own project, through Social Actions we put you in touch with existing projects!

Hey Andrea,

I've been reading Bill Somerville's book Grassroots Philanthropy, and noted that he mentions (and his foundation supports) an organization in Oakland, CA, whose mission overlaps with GoSomething. You're probably already familiar with them but just in case:

Generosity In Action
www.GenerosityInAction.org
Purpose: "to provide a structure for travelers to support local villages and people"
